Iranian taekwondo practitioners win colorful medals at Islamic Solidarity Games
Tehran (Pa Alam) – Four Iranian taekwondo practitioners gained 2 gold and 2 bronze medals at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.
In the 54kg weight category, there were 16 taekwondo practitioners. Mahdi Haj-Mousaei could defeat his rivals from Uzbekistan and Malaysia respectively. In the end, he won a bronze medal after conceded a defeat against his rival.
In the 58kg weight category, Hossein Lotfi took the first place at the first round of competition due to his rival’s absence from Ivory Coast. Then, he trounced his rival form Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan respectively, and he finally gained a gold medal after defeating his rival from Turkey at the final stage.
In the 53kg weight category, Nahid Kiani defeated her rivals from Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia. Eventually, she managed to beat her rival form Morocco to achieve a gold medal.
In the 57kg weight category, Nastaran Valizadeh defeated her rival from Kazakhstan, but as Valizadeh was trounced at the semi-final, she won a bronze medal.
